About

I believe people can. Here's why.

I didn't dare to dream the life I lead now. Not for lack of ambition, but because I couldn't see far enough ahead to know it was possible. What changed everything was seeing the opportunity, getting real support, and the discipline to keep showing up over and over again. I don't believe I was more capable than most people. I saw what was possible, got support and sponsors, and put everything into making things real. My work now is to help people see what's possible, be that support, and also show them how to give their all in ways that endure.

Today I'm a product builder, author, speaker, and investor. My full-time focus is ProductMind, the consultancy I co-founded, where I help companies and their leaders build products and teams that win. Most recently I was Chief Product Officer at WP Engine, leading product for one of the platforms the modern web runs on. And through my book Building Rocketships and the ProductMind Podcast, I put twenty-five years of hard-won product knowledge into the hands of a growing global audience.

My path has run through some of the most consequential product roles in technology: Procore, Bazaarvoice, Time Inc., Discovery, and nine years at T-Mobile, launching products that reached millions of people. I started as an engineer building the systems that mobile networks themselves run on, and I hold three patents from that work. I've been named one of Silicon Valley's Top 25 Most Influential Product Leaders. But the achievement I hold closest isn't on any résumé. It's the founders, leaders, and teams who went further because someone believed in them first.

The story that taught me what support makes possible

I didn't grow up planning to become a Chief Product Officer in America. I grew up in Nigeria, where the ceiling on what a young woman was allowed to imagine had been set long before she got a say in it. What raised mine wasn't a lucky break. It was a handful of people who saw further than I could, and refused to let me settle for the smaller version of the plan.

The moment the conviction was tested

Believing that people rise when they're backed is easy when the stakes are low. Mine got tested when the pressure was real, the outcome was uncertain, and the safe move was to bet on the sure thing instead of the person. What happened next is the reason I still lead the way I do.

That same conviction shapes where I put my capital and my time. I'm a founding partner of Kernel Fund, backing underrepresented founders at the seed stage, and founder of the Nduzi Foundation, which advances STEM education and economic opportunity across Sub-Saharan Africa.

I live and work in Austin, Texas.
